Daniel Goodman, CFA Chief Executive Officer
Daniel founded GFI in 2007 to create an investment counsel with a relentless focus on client service, performance and transparency. With more than three decades as a senior executive, investment manager, and investor, Daniel has been instrumental in helping leading Canadian families, executives and business owners achieve their financial goals and objectives.
Committed to lifelong learning and continuing education, Daniel is a CFA charterholder and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Western Ontario. Daniel completed executive education in Behavioural Finance and Investing from Harvard University. He also taught Financial Planning at the Schulich School of Business.
Effie Wolle, CFA President and Chief Investment Officer
Effie Wolle started at GFI as an investment analyst in October 2007. In 2011, Effie became a partner of GFI and is currently President and Chief Investment Officer. Effie and the investment team are responsible for security selection and portfolio management for GFI clients.
Prior to working at GFI, from 2005 to 2007, Effie was Director of Risk Management at Morrison Financial. While at Morrison, Effie worked side-by-side with senior management, overseeing operational and strategic changes. Effie’s primary focus was in the information technology, software, and personnel industries.
Prior to this work, Effie was an Actuarial Associate at Hewitt Associates, where he worked with multinational corporations on all aspects of their defined benefit pension plans. While at Hewitt, Effie completed three Society of Actuaries examinations. In 1999, Effie completed his Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Western Ontario and, in 2005, he graduated with a Master of Business Administration degree from the Ivey School of Business. Effie is a CFA charterholder.
Ram Bindra, CFA Senior Investment Analyst
Ram started at GFI as a summer intern in July 2012. He joined the firm full-time as an investment analyst March 2015 after graduating from the Schulich School of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in accounting. After a brief hiatus of 18 months, Ram returned to GFI as a Senior Investment Analyst in May of 2023 where he is responsible for providing investment research and analysis to GFI’s investment team. Ram is a CFA charterholder.
In his spare time, Ram enjoys basketball, hiking and travelling.
Fuyumi Yokura Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Operating Officer
Fuyumi began working with GFI in March of 2015. Fuyumi oversees the day-to-day operations of GFI, including its compliance and regulatory affairs.
Previously, Fuyumi worked for a private investment bank where she focused on compliance and client service. Prior to her work in compliance, she worked in the marketing departments of various not-for-profit organizations. Fuyumi completed her Bachelor of Commerce at Ryerson University in 2011.
Adam Bresver Partner, Wealth Management
Adam Bresver joined GFI in 2013 and works closely with clients to help them achieve their long-term financial goals. With a commitment to providing exceptional client service, Adam ensures that client needs are always addressed
In 2022, Adam earned his FEA (Family Enterprise Advisor) designation, enhancing his ability to guide families through their complex financial affairs. Specializing in succession planning and building multidisciplinary teams, Adam brings invaluable expertise to assist families in enhancing their long-term wealth.
Previously, Adam spent six years working with two independent investment banking firms in Toronto. Adam completed his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree at Dalhousie University in 2004.
In his spare time, you can find Adam on the golf course, or volunteering at the local hockey rink and coaching his 3 boys.
Corey Deschamps, CFP Head of Financial Planning and Senior Wealth Manager
Corey joined GFI in 2017. As a financial planner and relationship manager, he believes that clients should not only have an understanding of their investment portfolios, but how it fits into the big picture to help them achieve their goals.
He has spent his career working with high net worth families and is focused on developing comprehensive financial plans with clear and effective recommendations for clients to enhance their long-term wealth. He holds the Certified Financial Planner designation, Chartered Investment Manager designation, and a diploma in financial planning from Conestoga College.
Corey keeps busy as a father of two daughters and enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors with his family.
Vivian Young, CFA, CFP Financial Planner and Wealth Manager
Vivian joined GFI in February 2022. Her primary responsibilities are to maintain a comprehensive understanding of GFI’s portfolio philosophy, process, and construction while supporting clients in achieving their investment and financial goals. She has over 17 years of investment experience, with 15 spent at one of Canada’s largest bank-owned asset management firms where she engaged in diverse areas encompassing retail and institutional relationship management, investment risk, communication, and portfolio management across equity and fixed income solutions.
Vivian holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree from the University of Toronto. She is a CFA charterholder and holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
Vivian currently serves as an executive member of the UCC Prep Parents’ Organization. In her leisure time, she indulges in traveling, attending concerts and cherishing moments with her husband and two sons.
Sandra Mapa Manager of Business Development and Client Relations
Sandra Mapa joined GFI in October 2024. Known for her strategic approach and commitment to client success, Sandra drives business development and client services at GFI, strengthening client relationships and expanding their investment reach.
With over 10 years of experience in relationship building with high-net-worth individuals and families, Sandra has made significant contributions at organizations such as Sunnybrook Foundation and UJA of Greater Toronto.
In her spare time, Sandra enjoys working out, including participating in occasional workout competitions, and spending time with her two young children and husband.
David Homenuk Head of Trading and Operations
David Homenuk started at GFI in October 2012. David is responsible for executing and monitoring GFI’s trading activities and assists with other operational aspects of the firm. Prior to joining GFI, David worked at Merrill Lynch Canada.
Russell Fernandes Trading and Operations
Russell started at GFI in December 2021. Russ is responsible for executing and monitoring GFI’s trading activities and assists with other operational aspects of the firm.
Russ comes from over 15 years in Capital Markets at RBC and CIBC and is currently completing his MBA part time. In his spare time, he is very involved with the arts in his community and enjoys watching and/or playing basketball.
Jenny Skytta Accounting and Compliance Officer
Jenny Skytta joined GFI in 2009. Jenny’s efforts are focused on GFI’s accounting, compliance and administration functions.
Chris Choi, CFA Investment Analyst
Chris joined GFI in September 2020. Chris is responsible for providing investment research and analysis to GFI’s investment team and assisting with other operational aspects of the firm. Chris completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Toronto’s Rotman Commerce program in 2019 and is a CFA charterholder.
In his spare time, Chris enjoys playing tennis, basketball and trying new foods.
Monica Ghegin- Marchand Client Service Manager
Monica Ghegin-Marchand joined GFI in 2012. She oversees client needs and guides the client service team to ensure exceptional service delivery.
Previously, Monica worked at a major financial institution for 15 years and has a diverse background in audit, customer service and management.
Brissa Andreucci Client Service Associate
Brissa joined GFI in May 2018. Her main responsibilities include managing client needs and providing administrative support. Brissa completed her Bachelor of Commerce at Ryerson University in 2017.
Amanda Barry Client Service Associate
Amanda joined GFI in April 2021. Her main responsibilities include managing client needs and providing administrative support.
Prior to joining GFI, Amanda worked for Scotiabank as sales support in Private Banking. Amanda completed her Bachelor of Arts at York University in 2015.
In her spare time, she likes to sew.
Maria Cagaanan Compliance Officer
Maria joined GFI in January 2022 and is responsible for assisting the CCO in compliance and regulatory affairs. Maria has a background in compliance, having worked in compliance-focused roles for several firms in the financial industry.
In her spare time Maria enjoys travelling and spending time outdoors.
Adriana Solis Lozano Client Service Associate
Adriana started GFI in May of 2024. Her main responsibilities include managing client needs and providing administrative support. Adriana joined GFI after completing her Bachelor of Arts in Media Production at Toronto Metropolitan University in 2024.
In her spare time, she likes to karaoke, travel and attend concerts.
Charlie Chief Loyalty Officer
Charlie has been with GFI since April 2019. As Chief Loyalty Officer, Charlie’s role is to act as a reminder of our duty of loyalty to our clients and their best interests. Charlie always waits at reception to greet clients and visitors alike. Do not mistake his somewhat stoic disposition for indifference. Like all members of the GFI team, he cares a lot about our clients and their success.
